KPMG Law ranks third in diruj law firm monitor

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) has been ranked third in the current law firm monitor of the German Institute for Legal Departments and Corporate Counsel (diruj). The ranking is based on surveys of in-house lawyers.

In the current ranking, KPMG Law has moved up a full 16 places to third place – diruj calls it the “shooting star” of the survey. KPMG Law also provides the so-called individual winner: the list of the “Top 100 Lawyers” is headed by

Dr. Konstantin von Busekist

former Head of the Legal Corporate Services Solution Line and Managing Partner of KPMG Law since October.

In the top ten follow

Dr. Ian Maywald

in 4th place (Capital Markets Law 1st place) and

Dr. Matthias Aldejohann

in 7th place (4th place in Corporate Law). In the rest of the top 100, another two attorneys and one female attorney are nominated. Employment Lawyer

Steffen Lindner

(ranked 19th overall) is ranked 1st in the legal field of labor law.
Dr. Christian Nordholtz
is ranked 21st overall and 8th in the legal field of Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution.

KPMG Law also performed well in the legal field of compliance: Within two years, the share of recommendations rose from 0.6 to 13.9 percent – which means first place.

“The Kanzleimonitor is a key barometer for us because it reflects our clients’ assessment – no one can assess our strengths and weaknesses better than they can,” von Busekist comments on the ranking. “We are very pleased to see that our approach of providing multidisciplinary advice, often in close cooperation with the professionals at KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, and our strong focus on legal tech and standardization in legal advice are winning over our clients!”

For the Kanzleimonitor (Law Firm Monitor), which is currently being published for the ninth time, almost 900 companies made a total of more than 7,000 recommendations for law firms and individual lawyers in 32 areas of law. As in previous years, the most important areas of law are corporate law, employment law and mergers & acquisitions. In addition, the legal areas of compliance, data protection law and insolvency law are recording strong growth.
