Anne-Kathrin Gillig: ESG expert who leaves nothing to chance.

ESG: Three letters are causing a stir in the business world. Hardly any company is opposed to incorporating sustainability and social responsibility into its strategy. But management feels increasingly overwhelmed by the flood of new regulations, guidelines and directives. Lawyer Anne-Kathrin Gillig knows that companies are undergoing a major transformation. Taking a wait-and-see approach is not an option. Rather, companies should be actively shaping this transformation. Anne-Kathrin is there to support them.

Anne-Kathrin Gillig

Her mission

For Anne-Kathrin, ESG consulting is not just about reacting to regulations, but also about anticipating developments and identifying opportunities. She works with companies to develop a long-term ESG strategy that fits in with their corporate strategy. Anne-Kathrin knows the challenges on the corporate side and provides step-by-step support in implementing the strategy. She helps her clients get organized so they can comply with all relevant regulations and face new laws with confidence. With extensive expertise and a passion for the subject, she works with her clients to develop holistic and sustainable ESG governance systems.

The topic of ESG is broad and complex. It requires a fundamental transformation of corporate processes and how they are managed.

Her approach

Anne-Kathrin recommends the following:

  • Companies should always set up a governance structure that covers every subject area.
  • They should start implementing this as soon as they can, even if they only manage to achieve 80 percent at first. They can and should make improvements later.
  • ESG governance should be set up by multidisciplinary teams and harmonized with the company’s corporate strategy and ESG reporting.

Her focus

  • Compliance
  • Tax and commercial law
  • Foreign trade law
  • ESG
