KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) – with the support of KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (KPMG) in tax law matters – advised the shareholder of the fire protection testing laboratory MPA Dresden GmbH (MPA), based in Freiberg, on the sale of its shares in KIWA Deutschland GmbH (KIWA), based in Hamburg advised.
The team of KPMG Law and KPMG at the Dresden office with Inke Reuter, Steffen Lindner (KPMG LAW) and Grit Göthel (KPMG) managed the entire divestiture process including the preparation of the transaction relevant documents, the support of the purchase agreement negotiations and the calculation of the purchase price until the successful closing.
MPA emerged from the Institute for Mining Safety in 1991. This gave rise to the Materials Testing Institute for the Construction Industry of the Free State of Saxony, which was privatized in 2004. In 2007, the MPA based in Freiberg was spun off and established as a competence center for fire protection.
KIWA is active in testing, inspection and certification (TIC) worldwide, providing laboratory, (statutory) inspection, audit and insurance activities, supported and reinforced by (strictly separate) training, consultancy and data services
