KPMG Law advises Leyla Piedayesh, the founder of Lala Berlin, on the reorganization after insolvency

KPMG Law has advised the founder of Lala Berlin GmbH, Leyla Piedayesh, on the reorganization after insolvency.

In summer 2023, Lala Berlin filed for insolvency proceedings under its own responsibility at Charlottenburg Local Court. Leyla Piedayesh founded Lala Berlin in 2004 and positioned the company in the fashion industry both nationally and internationally. The creditors’ meeting has now approved the sale of the operating business to a subsidiary of Copenhagen Studios GmbH.

Copenhagen Studios was founded in 2017 and has been part of the S.Oliver Group since 2021. Necessary restructuring measures to stabilize the business operations of Lala Berlin were already implemented during the (preliminary) insolvency proceedings in order to prepare the company in the best possible way for the transition that has now taken place and which Piedayesh is closely accompanying.

KPMG Law advised the founder with a team led by partner Stefan Kimmel comprehensively in the negotiations with the insolvency administrator and the new investor.

Advisors to Leyla Piedayesh:

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH: Stefan Kimmel (partner, lead), Dr. Stefan Middendorf (partner, employment law), Tamara Granzow (manager)
