In the current issue of Versicherungswirtschaft Heute from 18.121.2023, there is a guest article by Frank Püttgen and Christoph Stommel.
The authors address the rapid development and development of artificial intelligence (AI). This holds the potential for incredible innovations, but also for misuse and unintended consequences. An EU-wide general regulation of AI-supported technologies is already in the works and will determine the future direction of AI applications. The insurance industry can benefit from AI, but there are also risks and side effects such as job loss, ethics and bias as well as dependency and the risk of losing control.
