KPMG Law strengthens its insurance practice in Cologne with Dr. Julia Faenger
Since April 1, 2026, Dr. Julia Faenger, LL.M., has been strengthening the insurance law advice of KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) in Cologne as Senior Manager. With her, KPMG Law is consistently continuing its expansion in the field of insurance. Before joining KPMG Law, the lawyer and claims expert worked for many years at a boutique law firm specializing in financial lines and at a major international law firm. There she advised insurers on major and complex claims and their handling and defense under coverage law.
Julia Faenger is a specialist lawyer for commercial and corporate law. She advises insurers on all aspects of liability and claims law, in particular in the area of directors’ and officers’ liability and professional liability, as well as on all insurance products in these risk areas. Her particular focus is on D&O and other financial loss liability insurance as well as cyber, W&I and fidelity insurance. She represents insurers both in and out of court and handles claims for them as monitoring counsel.
Another focus of her expertise is product development and the review of terms and conditions. In addition to her many years of networking in the German market, Julia Faenger maintains close contact with insurers in French-speaking countries.
