KPMG Law launches continuing legal education program in cooperation with Bucerius Executive Education

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) introduces “Law Essentials”, a professional development program. Developed in cooperation with Bucerius Law School’s Executive Education, it is aimed at new hires as well as associates, senior associates and (senior) managers.

The training modules are delivered in four ways: Courses offered by KPMG Business School are supplemented by courses set up specifically by KPMG Law, LinkedIn Learning courses and courses offered by Bucerius Executive Education. The learning content is tailored to the experience level of the participants.

  • Associates learn time management, business skills, contract drafting, and pleadings, among other skills.
  • Senior associates acquire negotiation skills and deal with business development, legal project management, client communication and client representation for attorneys.
  • Managers further develop their business skills, train their negotiation, sales and conflict skills, and learn leadership communication and acquisition.

The learning content complements the in-service legal training that continues to be implemented within the legal areas. They also sit alongside KPMG Business School’s mandatory courses on topics such as money laundering, compliance and occupational health and safety.

Dr. Folke Werner, Chief Human Resources Officer, comments: “Legal education provides legal content, but everyday work requires much more knowledge. We have designed Law Essentials to provide our lawyers with the best possible training and support in their careers. In this way, we are also increasing KPMG Law’s attractiveness as an employer.”

Dr. Patrick Schroer, CEO of Bucerius Education GmbH, adds: “On the one hand, the program ensures a uniformly high level of competence and thus makes a significant contribution to a reliably high quality of legal advice. On the other hand, the program supports every lawyer in his or her personal development and own career planning

The Law Essentials program will be fully rolled out in the coming months. Initial content and modules will be available in November 2023.
