KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH advised the shareholders of the Leupold Group on the sale of Joh. Leupold GmbH & Co KG to Waterland Private Equity GmbH. The acquisition has not yet been approved by the antitrust authorities.
Founded in 1910, the Joh. Leupold GmbH & Co KG, headquartered in Schwabach, Bavaria, is an internationally active specialist in the production of folding cartons, blister cards, blanks, corrugated packaging, displays, erecting boxes and individual custom products with approximately 17,000 square meters of production space, around 70 employees and a current growth rate of over 25%.
Waterland is an independent private equity investment company founded in 1999 with offices in Belgium (Antwerp), the Netherlands (Bussum), the UK (Manchester), Germany (Munich and Hamburg), Switzerland (Zurich), Denmark (Copenhagen), Dublin (Ireland) and Poland (Warsaw). It currently manages investor exposures of more than six billion euros.
In the context of the transaction, KPMG Law provided comprehensive advice on the transaction structuring as well as the drafting and negotiation of the agreements and corporate law documents underlying the transaction. KPMG Law worked closely with experts from KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, who provided tax and business advice.
