KPMG Law advises IMA shareholders on the sale of shares in Applus+ Services

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) has provided legal advice to the shareholders of IMA Materialforschung und Anwendungstechnik GmbH, based in Dresden (IMA Dresden), on the sale of their shares in the company to the Spanish Applus+ Services, S.A. Group, Barcelona.

The team of KPMG Law at the Dresden office with Dr. Matthias Aldejohann, Inke Reuter and Steffen Lindner managed the entire divestment process including the preparation of the transaction-relevant documents, the support of the purchase agreement negotiations until the successful closing as well as the carve-out of IMA Dresden’s investments in companies in Poland and Hong Kong.

IMA Dresden was founded in the 1950s as a state-owned testing laboratory in Germany with a focus on the aerospace industry and was privatized in 1993. Today it is one of the most prestigious laboratories for structural and material testing with a diversified customer base. The company’s key markets include rail, aerospace and defense, wind energy, building products, medical devices and automotive.

The Spanish Applus+ Group is a global testing, inspection and certification company specialized in the fields of structural and material testing.
