The end of 2021 is the deadline for implementing the EU Whistleblowing Directive. The directive is currently being transposed into national law throughout the EU. In Germany, too, the legislative process is drawing to a close – the new German whistleblowing protection must still pass the second legislative chamber, the Bundesrat, in February and is expected to come into force in May 2023.
