Our contribution to a sustainable future

We at KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (hereinafter “KPMG Law”) aim to actively help shape the transition to a sustainable economy and society. As an internationally oriented, multidisciplinary law firm that combines legal, economic, and technological expertise, we view sustainability as the continuous development of our own firm toward greater sustainability. At the same time, we advise our clients on issues related to sustainability regulations and support them in their legal implementation.

With this commitment in mind, we are continuously developing our sustainability program, Our Impact Plan, which focuses on four key areas: Governance, People, Planet, and Prosperity. Our goal is to act responsibly in all areas of our operations.

As a legally independent commercial law firm, we—KPMG Law—are associated with and closely linked to KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (hereinafter “KPMG AG”). This collaboration enables us to work together with the employees of KPMG AG and its business units—Audit, Tax, Deal Advisory, Consulting, Financial Services, and Performance & Strategy—to offer our clients comprehensive, holistic, and, when necessary, international support. Furthermore, this association promotes consistent service quality and adherence to agreed-upon values. KPMG Law and KPMG AG are legally independent entities. In the area of sustainability, we align ourselves with the goals and measures of KPMG AG and prepare our own greenhouse gas inventory.

Planet

Climate protection as part of our corporate responsibility

Through our business activities as a service provider, we have an impact on both people and the environment. As part of our National Environmental Program 2030, we are implementing measures in four areas of action:

Mobility: Reduction of emissions through sustainable organization of business trips and promotion of climate-friendly mobility alternatives.

Supplier management: Integration of ecological criteria in the selection of and cooperation with business partners.

Energy and resource consumption: Optimization of energy use and promotion of efficient use of resources at our office locations.

Commuting behavior: Supporting sustainable commuting behavior through flexible working models and mobility options.

With our ISO 14001-certified environmental management system, we are able to continuously monitor the environmental impact of all locations and solution lines and develop them further in a targeted manner. At the same time, we want to raise our employees’ environmental awareness and empower them to use energy and resources responsibly. Through targeted measures, we show concrete, everyday ways to achieve greater ecological sustainability. Our environmental policy forms the framework and defines clear principles for environmentally friendly action, which we will continue to develop together.
