North Rhine-Westphalia is cracking down on influencers who are suspected of tax evasion. Companies that commission influencers are also liable.
In an article on FAZ.net, KPMG Law expert Philipp Schiml and Anne Schäfer from KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft assess the current events.
“The exonerating effect only ceases with the so-called discovery of the offense or the initiation of criminal or fine proceedings. The fact that documents or a data record have been seized does not count as discovery of the offense. But now there is acute pressure to act for tax-delinquent influencers,” says Philipp Schiml.
