KPMG Law and KPMG AG advise NMP Germany on the acquisition of DESMA Schuhmaschinen GmbH

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) has provided legal advice to NMP Germany GmbH (NMP) on the acquisition of DESMA Schuhmaschinen GmbH (DESMA). KPMG Law worked closely with the transaction and tax experts of KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (KPMG AG). DESMA is part of the Salzgitter steel and technology group. The transaction is expected to be completed in fall 2025.

NMP is a Franco-German industrial group with two headquarters in Weil der Stadt near Stuttgart and Strasbourg in France. NMP is a leader in the splitting and sharpening technology of soft materials. Since 1903, machines have been manufactured for various sectors, particularly the leather, shoe and packaging industries.

DESMA, headquartered in Achim near Bremen, manufactures machines for the direct soling of shoes. Today, with its 220 employees, DESMA is a leader in the manufacture of systems, machines, automation solutions and molds for industrial shoe production.

The Salzgitter Group is carrying out the sale as part of its portfolio management, which also provides for the strategic sale of companies. In a bidding process, NMP prevailed as the partner for the further development of DESMA.
