KPMG Law gains procurement law experts from HFK

The internationally active KPMG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) strengthens the Public Sector in Berlin in the area of public procurement law. Henrik Christian Baumann (36), who specializes in public procurement and information technology law, joined KPMG Law on August 1, 2015.

Henrik Christian Baumann was previously a lawyer at HFK in Berlin, since 2011 as Salary Partner. Most recently, he headed the Berlin public procurement team. Baumann advises in particular complex projects in the fields of construction, real estate, infrastructure and information technology, primarily on the side of public clients.

With this change, KPMG Law is underpinning its strong growth course in public procurement law consulting. This has been built up by Mathias Oberndörfer since 2007. Oberndörfer has been KPMG’s divisional board member for the public sector since 2014. With lateral hires from Linklaters, Clifford Chance, Heuking Kühn or Graf von Westphalen, the firm has developed into one of the leading law firms in public procurement law.

The Berlin partner Dr. Moritz Püstow has, for example, advised Charité on the renovation of its high-rise bed building, bidders on the construction of the Fehmarn Belt tunnel, Deutsche Rentenversicherung on the construction of a new computer center, and the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz on the reorganization of its merchandising. Dr. Püstow leads the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure’s consultation on the Major Projects Reform Commission.
