KPMG Law advises founding shareholders on the sale of WaCo Gerätetechnik GmbH

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH advised the founding shareholders Volker Wahl and Uwe Paulick as well as Dictator Technik Dr. Wolfram Schneider & Co. Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH on the sale of WaCo Gerätetechnik GmbH based in Dresden to Wickeder Westfalenstahl GmbH.

WaCo Gerätetechnik is an established supplier to the electrical, transport and medical industries. Using highly automated manufacturing processes, WaCo Gerätetechnik produces, among other things, high-quality sheet metal parts, assemblies and complete devices at its production site in Dresden.

WaCo Gerätetechnik emerged from a large electrical engineering-electronics group through privatization in 1992 and has grown steadily since then.

The buyer, Wickeder Westfalenstahl, based in Wickede (Ruhr), is a specialist in clad materials and the operating parent company of the Wickeder Group.

In the course of the company’s succession planning, the shareholders of WaCo Gerätetechnik were looking for a strategic investor who would further develop the company in the long term. The technologies and products of WaCo Gerätetechnik GmbH complement the portfolio of the Wickeder Group very well. Together, the companies can offer customers a broad spectrum. The transaction secures the continued existence of the company with approximately 100 employees. The founding partners Volker Wahl and Uwe Paulick continue to serve the company as managing directors.
