The Federal Climate Adaptation Act came into force on July 1, 2024. It obliges the public sector to take the expected effects of climate change into account when making plans and decisions. It is expected to extend the state’s existing liability for climate impact damage. KPMG Law expert Moritz Püstow reports more on this in the guest article in ESGZ.
