KPMG Law wins Dr. Frank Püttgen for the Insurance practice in Cologne

As of October 1, 2019, Dr. Frank Püttgen joined KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) in Cologne as Senior Manager in the Insurance practice area. With him, KPMG Law is consistently continuing its expansion in the area of insurance. The 43-year-old joins from CMS Hasche Sigle, where he had worked since 2011.

Frank Püttgen’s practice focuses on insurance regulatory law and industrial insurance, in particular financial lines, such as directors & officers insurance, as well as claims handling. For over twelve years, he has advised insurance companies and insurance intermediaries on the regulatory requirements applicable to them and has relevant experience in handling and settling large claims for insurers. Another focus of his expertise is product development and condition review. In addition to his long-standing network in the German market, Mr. Püttgen maintains close contact with the London insurance market.

“Frank Püttgen is an excellent lawyer and well connected in the market. With him, KPMG Law will further develop and expand the claims settlement and D&O areas in particular,” said Dr. Ulrich Keunecke, Partner and Sector Head Legal Financial Services Insurance at KPMG Law. With the expansion of the insurance advisory business at the Cologne office, KPMG Law is consistently implementing its strategy in the insurance sector: “The audit rotation with the insurers offers KPMG Law the opportunity to also significantly develop the non-audit business together with the advisory divisions of KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft and to increasingly make its existing expertise available to the insurance market in an advisory capacity,” says Miriam Bouazza, Partner and Head of Legal Financial Services at KPMG Law. “The high demand in the market confirms our strategy.”
