Fraudsters can easily falsify invoices or even act as company bosses. Companies can defend themselves against this, but there are no miracle weapons against AI attacks.
KPMG Law expert Francois Heynike and KPMG expert Jan Stoelting are among the experts who were brought together on Friday at the invitation of the auditing institute IDW for an online event to educate around 1,400 selected auditors about the dangers of AI-supported cyberattacks on companies.
What can companies do against AI-supported attacks? There are tools for protection, but they are not magic bullets. A first step would be to establish a kind of healthy culture of mistrust in companies, the two experts emphasized. Employees should not suffer any disadvantages if they ask critical questions or check questionable processes.
