KPMG Law advises Telefónica Germany on compliance management

KPMG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft has been commissioned by Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG to advise it on the design of its compliance management system.

Following the integration of the E-Plus Group, Telefónica Germany is faced with the task of merging the compliance management systems of the two companies into a uniform system. KPMG Law’s task here is to ensure that the concept for a common system is suitable for preventing compliance incidents in the company. The focus is on the legal areas of anti-corruption and antitrust law. The compliance culture in the company, the compliance objectives and the compliance program itself are examined. The organization as a whole as well as communication, monitoring and improvement processes are also under scrutiny. The consultation started in December 2016.

Telefónica Germany is the largest German mobile communications company. In terms of the number of customer lines, it is one of the three leading integrated telecommunications providers nationwide. Following the integration of the E-Plus Group, the company is driving forward the further digitization of its business model. Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2012 and on the TecDAX since 2013. Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG.
