KPMG Law advises Athagoras Holding GmbH on the acquisition of IGES Group

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) provided legal advice to Athagoras Holding GmbH, a platform of the Munich-based PE firm Greenpeak Partners, on the acquisition of the IGES Group through the acquisition of all shares in IGES Institut GmbH, based in Berlin, by an investment vehicle.

The IGES Group is an association of research and consulting companies in Europe that specialize in the field of healthcare. The core of the group is the IGES Institute, founded in 1980, which works on issues relating to European healthcare systems and is now one of the largest private-sector companies in this field in Germany. The group also includes several specialized subsidiaries in seven European countries that provide services for international life sciences industries. The IGES Group employs more than 200 people. Its clients include the public sector, payers and the industrial healthcare industry.

Athagoras is building a group of service providers to create a technology-enabled European specialist service provider for healthcare systems and the clinical and commercial development of healthcare innovations in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech industries in the areas of regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, market access and real-world evidence.

As part of the project, KPMG Law provided comprehensive legal advice on the drafting and negotiation of the contract underlying the merger.
