Dirk-Henning Meier studied law at the University of Trier with a focus on environmental and technology law. After his first state examination he studied in England at the University of East Anglia and wrote his master thesis in Oil & Gas Law. Subsequently, he completed his legal clerkship, inter alia, at the District Environmental Authority of Cologne in plant construction law and a station at the Chamber of Commerce in London.
After his admission to the bar in early 2011, Dirk-Henning Meier worked for PwC Legal until the end of 2019. During this time, he studied part-time at the Haus der Technik in Essen, an external institute of RWTH Aachen University and WWU Münster, industrial and electrical engineering with a focus on energy management. He completed this study with his master dissertation for M.Sc..
Consulting focus
Dirk-Henning Meier advises significantly in the areas of energy law and all related fields of law. The focus of his mandates is on national and international energy supply companies as well as energy-intensive end consumers. He also has extensive experience in advising public sector companies such as energy utilities, network operators and water suppliers.
The main focus of his activity for these clients is on the one hand consulting in the field of green energy procurement, and on the other hand the security of supply.
Activities
Dirk-Henning Meier is a regular lecturer on energy law topics at the Educational Institute of the Energy and Water Industry (BEW) in Duisburg and Essen.
