Dr. Bernd Federmann, LL.M.

Biography

Dr. Bernd Federmann advises companies on the legal conception, further development and management of governance and compliance structures. He is particularly involved in decision-making situations in which regulatory requirements, liability issues and organizational responsibility come together at management and board level.

As a partner at KPMG Law, he heads the KPMG EMA Legal Compliance Practice and the KPMG Global Legal Industrial Manufacturing Sector. The focus of his advice is on the design, development and implementation of governance and compliance management systems, including against the background of current ESG regulations such as CSRD with ESRS or CS3D.

In addition, he supports organizations in their ongoing compliance operations, for example in carrying out compliance risk and relevance analyses, setting up guidelines and regulatory structures and introducing and developing whistleblower systems. He also supports companies’ internal audit departments in structuring and conducting audits. Bernd Federmann is the author of numerous compliance publications and co-author of various compliance standard works.
