KPMG Law expands its succession, wealth and foundations practice area

The internationally active KPMG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) is expanding its Family Business & Private Clients division. On October 1, 2011, it brought on board Mark Pawlytta, a pronounced expert in succession consulting practice. The 38-year-old lawyer joined KPMG Law in the position of Senior Manager – which corresponds to the position of Salary Partner in other law firms – and works in Frankfurt am Main.

Pawlytta started his career more than ten years ago at Flick Gocke Schaumburg. He worked for five years in the Mannheim office of Shearman & Sterling LLP before founding SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz Rechtsanwalts AG with them. There he worked in the area of succession, assets and foundations.

The focus of his work within KPMG Law is advising family entrepreneurs on the conception and implementation of business succession. “With Mark Pawlytta, we have gained a lawyer who already has valuable experience in advising family entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals on inheritance and tax law. Thanks to him, we are able to offer complete succession solutions in both national and international matters to an even greater extent than before,” sums up Manfred Kessler, Managing Director of KPMG Law.

Pawlytta’s addition complements KPMG Law’s advisory expertise beyond traditional business law. In the future, more holistic, complex succession solutions can be developed and implemented. This includes classic wills and prenuptial agreements.
