The new Buchloe high school will be realized as a public-private partnership. On February 27, 2012, the district of Ostallgäu concluded a construction and operating contract for the newly established high school with Georg Reisch GmbH & Co. KG (Bad Saulgau). The district was legally advised by KPMG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in the award procedure up to the conclusion of the contract.
The construction and operation contract provides for the new construction of a school building complex including a sports hall. The investment volume amounts to around 22.5 million euros. In addition, operating services will be provided for 20 years. This not only provides the district of Ostallgäu with a long-awaited additional school location, but at the same time assumes a PPP pioneering role in the Allgäu region. The school building, which achieves almost passive house standards, is the first PPP project to be realized in the administrative district of Swabia.
