KPMG Law expands Corporate / M&A – Nuremberg office significantly strengthened by new hires

The internationally active KPMG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) is strengthening its Nuremberg office by significantly expanding its Corporate / M&A practice. As of April 1, 2013, the renowned M&A lawyer Dr. Daniel Kaut will move from the Nuremberg office of Beiten Burkhardt to KPMG Law. For the Nuremberg site, he takes over the management of the divisions

Corporate / M&A. Kaut advises international corporations and medium-sized companies on M&A transactions and the establishment of joint ventures. He also assists shareholders and corporate bodies in matters of corporate law.

“I am impressed by how dynamically and at the same time quality-oriented KPMG Law is expanding. I consider the firm’s multidisciplinary advisory approach and international orientation to be extremely powerful,” says Kaut. “Accordingly, I look forward to contributing my experience together with KPMG Law’s first-class team to the further expansion of the Nuremberg office, as well as KPMG Law’s Germany-wide M&A practice.”

The 37-year-old joins KPMG Law in the position of senior manager. This is equivalent to the position of Salary Partner in other law firms.

In the course of strengthening the Nuremberg office, Annette Lionnet already joined KPMG Law from a renowned Nuremberg business law firm at the turn of the year. From there, Dr. Dirk Lange will succeed her as of April 1, 2013. Lionnet, a specialist in commercial and corporate law and co-author of a standard work on the law of purchasing, focuses her practice in particular on commercial and business law as well as private international law. In addition, as the author of a standard work on international arbitration, she has proven expertise in conducting national and international arbitration proceedings.

Lange, who is also a specialist in tax law and co-author of the standard work on the law of purchasing, also brings to KPMG Law in-depth experience in the areas of corporate succession and inheritance law, business and corporate law, and litigation.

Lionnet and Lange also join KPMG Law as senior managers. They are accompanied by Associate Tim Pahl. His practice focuses on license and know-how agreements, IT contract and license law, and Internet/e-commerce and telecommunications law.

“With the new team members, we are gaining highly experienced experts with excellent networks in the market. This strategically strengthens the Nuremberg location,” says Dr. Manfred Kessler, Managing Director of KPMG Law.

Mathias Oberndörfer, Partner, Head of the Nuremberg office and also Head of the Public Sector Practice Group, adds: “With a total of 15 lawyers at the Nuremberg office in the future, we will be able to offer our regional and supra-regional public and private clients the entire range of business and employment law advice at the highest level.
