Antitrust lawyer joins KPMG Law team

As of September 1, KPMG Law’s Antitrust & Merger team has been strengthened with an experienced antitrust lawyer. Dr. Hannes Schwinn will increase the market presence in southern Germany from Stuttgart.

Dr. Hannes Schwinn joined the Antitrust & Merger team headed by Dr. Gerrit Rixen a few weeks ago. Dr. Schwinn started as a senior manager, which is equivalent to salary partner at other firms. Dr. Schwinn brings with him many years of experience both from legal antitrust consulting practice and from the corporate side. He comes from Daimler AG, where he most recently worked for around three years as a manager in the area of antitrust compliance. There, he advised the corporate headquarters and the European national companies on antitrust law and merger control issues. Previously, Dr. Schwinn worked as a lawyer at the law firm CMS Hasche Sigle in Stuttgart, also in the field of antitrust law and merger control.

Dr. Gerrit Rixen, Head of Antitrust & Merger Control, explains: “Dr. Hannes Schwinn will strengthen the team, which was previously concentrated at the Cologne office, from Stuttgart and thereby increase KPMG Law’s market presence in southern Germany in particular.” Alexander Insam, Partner at the Frankfurt office and CHRO, added: “The combination of law firm and corporate experience is of great value to KPMG Law. We are very pleased that we were able to win Mr. Schwinn for us.”
