KPMG Law strengthens IP law with Simone Bötcher

Since March 2018, Simone Bötcher has been working for KPMG Law in Berlin in the Technology, Media & Telecommunication department, where she focuses on IP law in Berlin and the Eastern region.

Simone Bötcher is a specialist in intellectual property law and has twelve years of experience in advising on trademark, copyright and competition law. She founded the IP law firm BD&E Rechtsanwälte with offices in Hamburg and Düsseldorf in 2010 and was a partner there until January 2018.

Simone Bötcher’s activities at KPMG Law include advising nationally and internationally operating companies and the public sector on IP compliance issues, optimizing and defending their IP portfolio, in particular in the areas of trademark and design rights, competition law and know-how protection, as well as start-up advice in the areas of e-commerce, marketing and IP setup. In addition, she represents and advises companies in judicial IP infringement proceedings as well as in national, European and international patent office proceedings. Another focus is on data protection, in particular on the requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation.

Dr. Ulrich Thölke, Head of KPMG Law’s Berlin office, comments on the new addition: “We are very pleased to have gained Simone Bötcher, an equally experienced and litigious lawyer, for our nationwide IP and data protection practice in Berlin.”
