Deforestation and forest degradation are increasing at an alarming rate worldwide. They are closely linked to the global climate crisis and the loss of biodiversity – trends that threaten people’s economic existence and survival. The EU now wants to take countermeasures with the Deforestation Regulation. At the beginning of December, it was decided at European level to essentially postpone the date of application of the regulation to December 30, 2025 in order to give companies more time to prepare. Affected companies should use the coming year to adapt their business processes. In practice, it is also clear that many companies are not even aware that they are affected by the regulation. Reason enough to take a closer look at them in the podcast FACHFRAGEN by Fachmedien Otto Schmidt with KPMG Law Partner Dr. Thomas Uhlig. In the podcast by Fachmedien Otto Schmidt, proven experts each ask 5 questions on current hot topics in business, law and management. Explained simply and briefly. New every week.
