KPMG Law strengthens Legal Financial Services with Lutz Auffenberg

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH strengthens its team with Lutz Auffenberg. From the Frankfurt office, he has been in charge of Financial Legal Services since September 1 and reports to Dr. Ulrich Keunecke, Leipzig, Partner.

Auffenberg joins KPMG Law as a senior manager, which is equivalent to a salary partner at other law firms. At KPMG Law, he will work in the area of blockchain, tokens and coins, advising companies in this field on legal and regulatory aspects, in particular on the structuring and implementation of business models, tokens and coins.

Auffenberg’s practice focuses on banking supervisory law and capital markets law. He pays particular attention to the digitalization of the financial world and new technological solutions in this sector. Since June 2018, he has been a lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance as part of the “Certified Blockchain Expert” certificate program. Until his move, he had been with Winheller Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in Frankfurt since 2012, since 2015 as a salary partner and head of the banking and capital markets law department. As part of his work there, he advised various blockchain/DLT projects.

Lutz Auffenberg is a specialist lawyer for banking and capital market law.
