Biography

Bernd Federmann has been with KPMG Law since 2007. As a partner at KPMG Law, he heads the KPMG EMA Legal Compliance Practice and the KPMG Global Legal Industrial Manufacturing Sector.

The focus of his advice is on the design, development and implementation of governance and compliance management systems, including against the background of the requirements of ESG regulations, such as CSRD with ESRS or CS3D. His focus is also on supporting organizations in compliance operations, for example in carrying out compliance risk and relevance analyses, setting up policy management or whistleblowing systems. He also supports companies’ internal audit departments in structuring and conducting their audits.

He is the author of numerous compliance publications and co-author of various compliance standard works, including “Handbuch Managerhaftung”, Beck-Verlag 2022, “Der Compliance Officer”, Beck-Verlag 2023 and “Kommentar Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz”, Boorberg-Verlag 2024.
