On April 23, 2026, the Bundestag passed the Act on Accelerating the Award of Public Contracts. After the Act was published in the Federal Law Gazette on May 18, 2026, it entered into force on July 1, 2026. The Act implements the reform of public procurement law that has been under discussion for many years.
