KPMG Law strengthens Real Estate practice in Frankfurt with a team led by Partner Bernd Bäumer

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (KPMG Law) is further expanding its Legal Financial Services Real Estate division with a team from Ashurst.

Bernd Bäumer, Anja Bode and Christina Laux will start at KPMG Law on October 1, 2021. Bernd Bäumer was previously Counsel at Ashurst and will join KPMG Law as a Partner. Anja Bode, who is already well acquainted with the RealEstate Tax division of KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (KPMG) from earlier professional years, joins KPMG Law as a Senior Manager – a position equivalent to a Salary Partner in traditional law firms. The two experienced real estate lawyers will be accompanied by Christina Laux, who joins KPMG Law as an associate. The well-coordinated team advises well-known national and international investors and development companies on real estate transactions, real estate project developments and commercial tenancy law.

Bernd Bäumer started his career at Noerr and Clifford Chance. In particular, he finds the opportunity to advise his clients side by side with experts from other departments of KPMG and KPMG Law highly exciting: “Supporting real estate investors from acquisition or project development through subsequent asset management to resale always offers exciting topics and a wide variety of issues, not only legal ones. In the future, we will increasingly combine the experience and knowledge of other specialist areas with our own expertise. Together with the sustainable, professional structures and the establishment of KPMG Law and KPMG in the market, we believe we can provide a very good offering for clients.”

“Bernd Bäumer, Anja Bode and Christina Laux are to our great pleasure the long desired addition to our team to increase our presence with internationally operating real estate investors and with capital management companies as well as with project development companies in the greater Frankfurt area and to convince with our integrated real estate consulting!” emphasizes Dr. Rainer Algermissenwho leads the Real Estate team as Sector Head at KPMG Law.

Miriam Bouazza

, Head of Legal Financial Services at KPMG Law, is pleased with this strong addition to the Frankfurt office: “I am convinced that the transaction-experienced trio will further realize the potential at the Frankfurt office thanks to their outstanding expertise as well as their ability to provide holistic advice to our clients in the real estate sector.”

Dr. Hans Volckert VolckensBernd Bäumer, Head of Real Estate at KPMG, adds: “KPMG’s Real Estate practice is growing steadily and enjoys the increasing trust of our clients. With Bernd Bäumer’s team at KPMG Law, the high-quality real estate legal advice in Frankfurt can be significantly strengthened once again and the market’s need for forward-looking multidisciplinary problem solutions can be met.”
