KPMG Law in Germany and KPMG Law in Austria advise the WERTGARANTIE Group on the acquisition of CLUB.WEISS Handels-GmbH

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, Germany (KPMG Law in Germany) and Buchberger Ettmayer Rechtsanwälte GmbH (KPMG Law in Austria) successfully advised the WERTGARANTIE Group on the acquisition of CLUB.WEISS Handels-GmbH, based in Ebensee, Austria.

As part of the acquisition of CLUB.WEISS Handels-GmbH by the WERTGARANTIE Group from its previous owners Horst Neuböck and the CLUB.WEISS association, KPMG Law in Germany and KPMG Law in Austria provided comprehensive cross-border transaction advice during the purchase agreement negotiations. The advice focused in particular on corporate/M&A and commercial matters.

The CLUB.WEISS association, with around 130 specialist retail partners and 150 locations, has been active in Austria since the end of the 1990s and offers customers and specialist retailers the rental of electrical appliances over a period of 66 months. CLUB.WEISS Handels-GmbH manages the operational rental business for the association and operates the “Rent instead of buy” sales platform.

The WERTGARANTIE Group, based in Hanover, was founded in 1963 and offers its customers warranty solutions in bricks-and-mortar stores and online. As a specialist retail partner for warranty services, WERTGARANTIE protects consumer electronics, household appliances, hearing aids and home wiring as well as bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters against repair costs through the new linexo brand. The WERTGARANTIE Group has been active in Austria for 25 years and has established itself as a specialist insurer for electrical appliances, hearing aids and watches.
