Biography

Einiko Franz is a partner at KPMG Law in the area of Legal Financial Services, Insurance and has been advising insurance companies and insurance intermediaries for more than 15 years on almost all issues of insurance and reinsurance law as well as tax law. He also advises the insurance industry on legal and tax issues related to insurance.

His relevant consulting and project experience includes, e.g.:

  • Legal and tax advice on the establishment of new insurance companies and branches, owner control proceedings, a variety of reorganizations and M&A transactions (mergers, portfolio transfers, internal and external run-off), outsourcing and capital investments
  • Many years of experience in advising on insurance contract law, insurance intermediary law, insurance tax law and insurance supervisory law
  • Pfleger in the insolvency proceedings of Berliner Versicherung AG acc. § SECTION 317 ISA
  • Legal and tax support for the introduction of insurance products
  • Projects on operational legal and tax topics, e.g. VVG Reform 2008, IDD, Solvency II, Insurance Tax Law Modernization Act 2020, Compliance Management Systems, FATCA/CRS
