KPMG Law honored with PMN Management Award for Covid 19 information campaign

KPMG Law Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH has won this year’s Professional Management Network (PMN) Award in the Business Development category with its information campaign around the Covid 19 pandemic.

At the twelfth PMN Management Awards, KPMG Law was awarded first place in the Business Development category. Mathias Oberndörfer, Managing Director of KPMG Law, accepted the award at the gala ceremony on September 24, 2020 at the Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt am Main.

First place was awarded for the information campaign on legal issues surrounding Covid-19. When it became clear at the beginning of the year that Covid-19 would develop into a pandemic and affect all areas of life and business, KPMG Law’s Corona Task Force put a Covid-19 website on the most important legal issues online in German and English as early as March 5. These include topics on labor law, commercial and contract law, data protection law, compliance/corporate organization, public law and insurance law.

To complement the website, the task force developed a wide range of information:

  • 24/7 telephone hotline
  • Answering e-mail inquiries
  • Brochure with the most important questions and answers on legal aspects of the pandemic in German and English
  • Online tool “Short-time allowance assistant” for simplified application process
  • Around 30 webinars with a total of around 6,000 participants on topics such as the impact of the pandemic on the start-up industry or tips for applying for funding.

In its laudatory speech, the jury highlighted the fact that the service was designed to be free of charge and universally accessible from the outset and throughout. “Our aim was to provide first aid in legal matters,” says KPMG Law managing director Oberndörfer, explaining the approach. “Many companies were confronted with the same questions in the first weeks and months of the pandemic. Here we wanted to provide a quick initial orientation, and the many positive responses have further confirmed us in this.”
