KPMG Law is strengthening its Legal Operations team with Markus Fuhrmann, Marco Wilhelmi and Thomas August from EY Law. Fuhrmann, Wilhelmi and August started on January 1, 2024, each in the partner rank.
With this team of six, KPMG Law is significantly strengthening its Legal Managed and Outsourcing Services division and responding to the continuing high demand for services in this field.
The three new partners Fuhrmann, Wilhelmi and August have many years of expertise in the areas of legal managed services, outsourcing as well as management and tech consulting. Prior to EY, the experts worked for Accenture, among others, where they implemented a large number of best practices for optimizing the legal department for various industries. They will be joined at KPMG Law by three further team members from Berlin to provide technological support to clients in Germany and the EMEA region in the area of legal managed services with cost-efficient, scalable delivery models.
The team works closely with the two KPMG Law Partners Philipp Glock (Team Leader) and Andreas Bong (Head of Legal Operations & Technology Services) and strengthens the existing KPMG unit of more than 40 specialists from the areas of operations, technology and managed services. The department is already successfully advising legal departments of all sizes and from all sectors on how to work faster, more efficiently and with greater risk awareness.
Philipp Glock explains: “Legal departments are confronted with tasks and projects that are time-consuming and can no longer be managed using the traditional legal approach. We have our Legal Managed Services team for such tasks, which we are expanding considerably with our experienced colleagues. This enables us to advise our clients even more effectively.” Use cases include the assumption of services relating to contracting, regulatory radar, compliance or global entity management.
“We are looking forward to the interdisciplinary cooperation with KPMG Law’s Legal Operations team, which is already very successful in the market. The talks with Philipp Glock and Andreas Bong have shown us how powerful the team is and what opportunities there are to continue this success story together,” adds Markus Fuhrmann.
