Issue 3/2024 (page 20 ff.) of In-house Counsel contains an article with a statement by KPMG Law expert Kathrin Brügger.
ESG, or environmental, social and governance for short, has established itself as a megatrend in the economy. Regulations and a problem-conscious public are pushing companies towards sustainability. The “S” stands for their relationships with people both internally and externally – and this also applies to the work of in-house lawyers.
“There is no law as to which department is responsible for ESG in the company.”
